Albuquerque Balloon Run
October 7 – October 13
It’s time to please remember this final Head for the Mountains version in October with a final trip to New Mexico and the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque! Yes, it’s ON! I’m hoping you all don’t forget this momentous Head for the Mountains, 2020 version!
We have a block of rooms at the Barcelona Suites in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the weekend of October 9th-11th. On the way out, we also have rooms reserved at the Sitzmark Chalet Inn in Ruidoso, New Mexico. This was a favorite 3 years ago when we last went to New Mexico.
We’ll be leaving on Wednesday, October 7th from LOVE’S Travel Plaza, IH10 and Hwy 87 at 9:00 a.m. We’ll make it to Ruidoso that same day and stay at the Sitzmark Wednesday night. It’ll be a long day in the seat, but it’ll be worth it as the second day is much shorter arriving in Albuquerque on Thursday afternoon.
Friday, assisted by the Roadrunner Miata Club, we’ll have a run through various routes with lunch in Santa Fe. After dinner at a yet to be disclosed location in the Albuquerque area, we’ll rise early on Saturday to head on over to the Balloon Fiesta. If you’ve never been to this event, it’s the largest balloon event in the world! Yes, the world! Breathtaking morning glows and the mass ascension will be very exciting!
Go here for information and tickets for Saturday, October 10th !
I’ll be finalizing our itinerary as we progress through these uncertain times we’re experiencing. But, I’m confident we’ll be able to make this a memorable Head for the Mountains. I can’t thank you all enough for making this annual event such a success. ONE MORE TIME!
Meanwhile, make your reservations now if you haven’t already!
