Street Dreams in Fredericksburg
Street dreams is a classic car, truck and motorcycle dealer (looks more like a museum) with two large enclosed metal buildings full of restored cars and memorabilia that is for sale or to just enjoy looking at. They have rest rooms and lots of space inside and outside for hanging out and visiting. Even if the weather might be on the chilly side, their show room is heated. Admission is free. When I was there in January, they had about 50 cars from the 1930’s – 1980’s, trucks, a Cobra, Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros and other muscle cars.
Their web site is “streetdreamstexas.com”
Meet at Spring Branch Valero on 281 (north bound side) at 9:30, Depart at 10:00.
We will drive the curvy back roads to Kendalia for a short pit stop then on to the Old #9 highway and up to Alamo Springs Cafe for an early lunch. Most of the roads are ones we have driven before, but we did find a road that is new to Betty and myself. It has a couple of unexpected features in addition to some great curves and roller coaster hills.
After lunch we will drive a few more back roads over to Street Dreams. This is a business near Fredericksburg that specializes in restoring vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Their shop / showroom has roughly 50 vehicles and lots of memorabilia, most of it is for sale. Their show rooms (2) are heated and have plenty of room to hang out. They also have a nice patio area with tables and shade trees if the weather is nice.
Spend as much time as we want looking at all the classic cars and memorabilia in their two shops/show rooms. After we are done at Street Dreams, its a short drive on Hwy 16 to Kerrville and then I-10 back to San Antonio, or wherever home is.
See Y’all Saturday,
Stan & Betty
